Justin Adams' acclaimed album Desert Road was born in Mali in early '99, when Justin bought an African ngoni from a Tuareg musician. This magical instrument set the album in motion, providing rolling grooves which Justin sets against explosions of blues guitar and electronics in the spirit of Lee Perry, early Pink Floyd and Roxy Music. Desert Road has been followed up by a series of scorching live shows with The Wayward Sheikhs, whose formidable line-up features master percussionist Salah Dawson Miller (3 Mustafas 3, Dr John, Working Week, Phillip Glass), guitarist Andy Cox (The Beat, FYC), Nigerian drummer Seyi Akinde and bassist Simon Edwards (Billy Bragg, David Gray).'
