The Drummers of the Nile go south - Nubian Travels
Master drummer of the Nile Mahmoud Fadl grew up in the old Nubia, drowned in Lake Nasser ever since the day the region was flooded in the early sixties. The decant of a Nubian Battikol family performed and toured with the top Arabic orchestras and singers like Ahmed Adawia or Nubian soul legend Ali Hassan Kuban before he started an international solo-career on his own. Today Mahmoud Fadl works and travels between the old Cairo and new Berlin, wich happens to be one of the traditional centers for Nubian studies in the world.
